Scope:
o Identification, diagnostics, and recovery of real-time servers.
o Restoration of Balance of Plant (BOP) systems impacted by server outages.
o Coordination with international partners to bring specialized expertise
and technical solutions.
Role: Toyethu Trading and Projects acted as the C&I and Server Systems Specialist, delivering troubleshooting, recovery, spares replacement, and system verification in collaboration with global partners.
Project Challenges
• Real-time server faults disrupting Balance of Plant operations.
• Risk of extended downtime affecting plant generation capacity.
• Server-to-DCS integration complexity requiring specialized knowledge.
• Limited local spares and expertise for certain server modules.
Toyethu’s Approach
• Conducted detailed fault isolation and root cause diagnostics using system logs and monitoring tools.
• Established 24/7 coordination with international partners, ensuring access to OEM-level expertise and technical support.
• Implemented server recovery procedures and reconfigured applications to restore real-time performance.
• Supplied and installed critical spares, some sourced through international networks.
• Compiled a joint resolution report with international partners, recommending preventive measures
